![]() ![]() That was clumsy, but did result in a perfect import. Then select all vectors and use the resize tool to resize the whole thing back to the correct size of the box. My solution was to load it into TurboCAD, draw a box around the drawing of known size and save as PDF. TurboCAD cannot export to an EPS, but can do a PDF, unfortunately, that resized the drawing. Also, I have to always keep in mind that any tool has it's limitations, it's my job to understand what they are and work within or around them. ![]() It does its intended function very well and I recommend it highly. Years ago I got DeltaCad, cant remember whether it was free then - it is. Any Engineering group has to pick their focus, and I am Very pleased with VCarve overall. works with your legacy DWG and DXF files. First you draw the part you want and then export it as a dxf file. They're a small company and VCarve is a moderately priced product. Cad software is where the Gcode making process begins. As in other CAD software, DeltaCad is also compatible with software used primarily for rendering as such 3D Max. Drawings can be presented in two ways 2D and 3D. However, I can't really blame Vectric because of point #1. For architectural drawings, DeltaCad can be used in preparing site development plans, floor plans, electrical and plumbing layouts and for schedule of doors and windows. That's his way of saying everyone else in the CAD industry knows this.Ģ) It's frustrating that VCarve cannot import the file correctly, but TurboCAD and SketchUP can. I mentioned this issue to a friend and his response was: "Well Duh!". I've thought about this and arrived at a couple conclusions:ġ) DXF sucks at it's intended purpose, that being an Exchange format. A DXB (drawing interchange binary) file is a specially coded binary version of a DXF file used for plotting, and can be used to flatten 3D wireframe drawings into 2D. It is often used to share drawing data between other CAD programs. I can resize the file in delta and save, however when I open it up in sheetcam the same thing happens. A DXF (drawing interchange format) file is either a binary or an ASCII representation of a drawing file. If you open both files while in one Deltacad setting you can select-then-copy one drawing and. when I draw a picture in deltacad and save it as a dxf file, it opens fine in sheetcam, all is well.when I import a dxf file and open it in deltacad it opens 5 times or more larger. See IsiPlot or devCad Pro 3 if you need also cad editing features. I would also like to know how to open more than one dxf file on the same page so i can combine different drawing together. As I look around for something to replace it now that it has been discontinued, I find that one feature in Deltacad that seems to be lacking in other options is the ability to easily import images at their actual size and the ability to then scale the image to any size I want. Yeah, the converted file didn't help, because that was only an example. Yeah i have a program that converts text to dxf file so i just use that then import the text into deltacad and go from there. Sorry about my attitude, it's been a long week (and it's only Tuesday). ![]()
